What:We don’t want to start any arguments, but… cats or dogs? Come and argue it out with your fellow PCXers while dancing to not one but two amazing bands! At least you don’t have to argue Lindy Hop versus Blues, as we get to start the night to the awesome energy and tight tunes of perennial Swingtown Rebels faves, Sideline Swing, and finish it to the seriously grooving Muddy Mama’s Blues Band! So first up some solid four-on-the-floor swinging music, and time to put some serious dancing on your feet. While the Big Band is playing, we might even put a sneaky micro blues room in for those craving a bit of a groove… and then once they are all done we will shift rooms for some back room, late night Blues dancing (just the way it should be!). The Muddy Mama’s are nothing short of amazing so forget the beauty sleep Cinderella, you’re going to see midnight tonight. (If you’re a die hard lindy hopper don’t worry too much, the last time they played for us there was a fair bit of triple stepping sneaking in there too). Where: Salsa Latina, 12 Bath St. This is a fully set up dance studio with a lovely and, from memory, slightly slidey floor. Who: Sideline Swing! One of us Rebels’ favourite and most longstanding bands, Sideline is a big band that knows how to really bring the energy to the party. Following this… The Muddy Mama’s – coming out late at night specially for us, this band will be keen to make it worth their while! When:Saturday 1st of April, doors open 8 pm, Sideline playing from 8:30 pm, Muddy Mama’s from 11 pm. If there are still people keen to dance after that, we will get the DJs to lay on some smashing tunes and keep things going until the wee hours! Wear:If you’re keen to wear your choice of mammalian house pet team on your body, you can come as a cat or a dog, find a relevant tshirt, or grab a felt tip pen from the desk and adorn your face appropriately (we’ll try not to hide any vivids in there). Or, y’know just dress normally and woof or meow occasionally! Worth: Included in a full pass, one person on a parents pass, or $40 including the late night event so two awesome bands!! (if not sold out prior). Wefweshments:BYO drinks – just please take any empties or rubbish with you, and be respectful to the venue! There might well be some classic cheese toasties later in the evening to fuel your dancing fires, so save some space for this!
