Swingtown Jazz Strolls Registration Form
Swingtown Rebels is excited to be running a special two week series in between our regular sets to learn the Shim Sham, the Al & Leon Shim Sham, or to brush up on "those bits" of the Big Apple.

Dates: 11th and 18th of June

6:30 pm @ St Michaels
Al & Leon Shim Sham:

Al Minns and Leon James were two of the most famous lindy hoppers of their time, and in this course you’ll learn their interpretation of the Shim Sham. Their steps and combinations are a bit more challenging than the classic shim sham version that we modern lindy hoppers got from Frankie Manning, so the routine gives you a lot to dig into. Pre-requisite: you must already know how to dance the shim sham.

Frankie Manning's Shim Sham:

The Shim Sham is a famous tap/line dance which originated in the 1920s. Frankie Manning created his own swing version of this routine in the 1980s to teach around the world and now almost every lindy hopper all over the world knows it. You might have seen it pulled out here at socials or performances - now's your chance to come along and join in the fun. All encouraged to join!

7:30 pm @ Papa Hou
The Big Apple refresher:
